GENESYS for Windows®, the industry's premier sampling system, enables you to design and generate high quality RDD sample right at your desktop. The latest version of this system, replicates the advanced sampling capabilities of its predecessors while providing the ease of use associated with programs created for the Windows operating systems.
Geography Selection
Define your area to be sampled using any of the fourteen available geographic parameters (Census Tract/Block Group, Congressional Districts, ZIP Code) or select from four pre-defined national frames. With a few mouse clicks, you can define a geographic frame as simple as a single state or county, or as complex as multiple, contiguous, ZIP Code or Census Tract/Block Group defined areas.
It is easy to combine multiple geographic parameters into a single definition, and excluding areas is just as easy as including them. If you need a national sample, GENESYS makes it even easier with a special feature to quickly select either a 48 or 50 state frame, with or without the District of Columbia.
Demographic Selection
To help you achieve your specific research objectives, GENESYS can generate samples in only those exchanges that meet defined demographic criteria within your geographic frame. Whether this capability is used to target high incidence areas, or to stratify your sample by demographic characteristics, the power and flexibility is at your fingertips.
Reporting and Sample Design Features
The system provides a robust set of reports enabling you to view detailed geo-demographic data about any defined area. The Exchange level reports provide a variety of geographic and demographic information about the households represented in the selected exchanges. A powerful feature that many find to be invaluable in the design phase of the research process as well as in preparation of final reports.
Sample Design
For every sample frame you design, GENESYS provides to you estimates on the working number rates, incidences and other detailed, frame level statistics.
In addition, by changing the default working bank threshold and/or adding a measure of size to the sample frame, GENESYS will calculate and display the affect these have in working number rates resulting from the specified criteria.
Another powerful feature that can be particularly useful during the proposal phase of a project when assessing the working number and incidence rates of various designs and their impact on data collection productivity.
Sample Generation
Once you’re satisifed with the sample design, it’s a simple click of the mouse to generate the sample to your exact specifications right at your desktop. No waiting for the sample to be processed elsewhere and “delivered”, it’s available in a matter of seconds.
GENESYS also provides to you complete control over the sample’s final format, by allowing you to determine things like the number of replicates or which of the 100 + built-in geographic and demographic variables should be appended to each record (i.e., age, income, FIPS county code, time zone, etc.). GENESYS even enables you to define your own codes to be included in the sample file.
Some additional features:
Generation
· Variable working bank threshold: enables you to determine at what level, households found in a working bank are used in sample generation
· Batch generation capabilities: a powerful and easy to use tool providing you with the ability to set up unatttended generation of samples, for multiple frames within a project, or across projects.
Built in number purging
· PCI purging: The Private Citizens Inc. database is built into GENESYS and these numbers can be removed automatically if so desired.
· Business purging: Known “Yellow Page” listed numbers can be automatically removed with the GENESYS BP Module
· Links to GENESYS-Plus non-working number purging.
